Try something new Dive With Side Mounts
Sidemount is the new “cool” way of using doubles cylinders. This means that divers put a single cylinder on each side of the body.
Side-mounting isn’t new, but has simply undergone rapid equipment evolution. Kiting up is easier as you put each cylinder on in the water, boat or Land instead of carrying them on your back.
This will appeal to anyone with back issues, or other injuries, people who can not carry twin sets, women,
You will gain longer no stop dive times that you achieve with a dive computer and enriched air. Using two cylinders doesn’t necessarily mean you’re making a decompression dive but makes the diving you are doing more safe as you have a redundancy. It is also great option for underwater photographers or any divers who want increased bottom time in shallower depths.
Sidemount Specialty Diver Course has boomed in recent months. Recreational divers love it because it introduces the benefits of diving safely with twin cylinders and gives them a taste of technical diving..
Sidemount diving first got started in the 1970's by cave divers in the UK.
(it is NOT a FAD).
It is being used today as the only way to explore very small sections within a cave system & wrecks. Sidemount enables the divers to squeeze through tight spaces to access other parts of a cave or wreck that someone with back mounted equipment would not be unable to get through.

They may have done a quick instructor course, Not a long & very intensive one like my self. I have also been diving Side mounts now for a couple of years with a couple of hundred dives in SM, I have dived many of the new sidemount rigs out their. All this has built my knowledge up so I will be able to help you using one of the courses or update the one you may have already done.
SM Refresher &equipment update
What will Side mounts allow me to do..?
Conduct all your future dives in safety whilst wearing sidemount equipment:
Have a good streamlined Profile, Trim, Position in the water:
Reduce SAC rate '' problems' and more.
These courses will help you get the most out off your sidemount diving!
Why I use Sidemount Equipment
Buoyancy control is better and a more streamlined profile reduces drag & improving diver trim which makes fining and moving through the water much more efficient. This reduces air consumption resulting in longer dive times, You will also have easier access to valves which increases safety. There is a much greater comfort level because the sidemount harness and equipment is custom fitted to each individual. This accommodates divers of all shapes and sizes.
Because they are on your sides they allow your back to bend and move freely unlike when you use a back mount cylinder. The fact you have one on each side means you don`t need to worry about taking a pony bottle for backup as you have a extra cylinder or air with you.
Safer option in terms of air management as you have an easier access to your cylinder valve as they are not behind you.
One harness and BCD does it all. The same sidemount equipment is used for more advanced types of diving.
Side mounts are very good for wreck or cave diving because they allow you flexibility in the water and allow you to fit through much smaller gaps then you could ever do in back mounts. Also having two cylinders you have plenty of air with you.
Note to any side-mount divers: !!!
Not all of the Side-mount instructors, dive in side mounts all the time or have the proper skills to teach or dive in side mounts, so How can they show you How to:
We specialize in Side-Mounts & Training in them.... IF you are unhappy in your SM please have a look at SM Refresher & Equipment Course
